Personal Profile Xiang Yuan received Bachelor's and PhD degrees in physics from Fudan University in 2014 and 2019, respectively. He was a joint Ph.D. student at the University of California, Berkeley. Later that year, he joined the State Key Laboratory for Precision Spectroscopy at East China Normal University. He engaged in experimental research of topological physics, developing high magneto-infrared spectroscopy technology, and exploring topological physical phenomena in new spatial dimensions induced by a high magnetic field. Representative works include the discovery of 1D Weyl fermions, 1D Chiral Zero Modes, 3D van Hove singularities, and 3D Quantum Hall effect. Prof. Yuan was honored with a selection to the ShanghaiS&T 35U35 Program and featured in the MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35 list. |

Undergraduate teaching
He teaches two undergraduate courses "Solid State Physics," "2D Materials and Devices," and "Low-Dimensional Physics and Functional Materials." He attempted a teaching approach that integrates basic theory, cutting-edge literature, and experimental practice. Course rating has topped 4.97 for three consecutive years (on a 5-point scale). The course was selected as the exemplary high-quality course of Daxia School (an online course platfrom constructed by ECNU). He also leads projects on educational research under the Ministry of Education as a principal. The image presents a custom-developed maskless non-direct write lithography system, capable of a 1000nm resolution, and employed in academic and research settings.
