On May 10th, the "Nest Generation Scientists" Training Camp was successfully hosted at the Optical Building of East China Normal University. Selected by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and the World Laureates Association, a group of outstanding middle school students from across Shanghai took part in this inspiring event.

Professor Yuan welcomed the students with a guided tour of the laboratory, where they got a closer look at scientific instruments such as the superconducting magnet and Fourier transform infrared spectrometer. He explained how these systems play a vital role in conducting and optical research under extreme conditions.

Later, they were fascinated by the “liquid nitrogen ice cream” experiment, which offered a fun and hands-on way to explore the wonders of low-temperature physics.
The event expanded the students' perspectives and introduced them to the elegance of scientific discovery.
